It’s November now, which means it’s edging closer to winter. And you know what winter brings… Christmas! That means that it’s practically already Christmas. Okay, maybe not. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get into the Christmas spirit this year. After Christmas this year I wrote this post about festive chocolate-coated peppermint creams. I finished the post, saved it in my drafts, and forgot about it… until now! I know it’s March, but oh well – why should the post go to waste? And who says peppermint creams should just be made at Christmas?! Not me!

If you hadn't noticed already, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. One thing I've never been a huge fan of though is Christmas films, but here are 3 I actually really like!

If you hadn’t noticed already, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. It makes me so happy and it’s definitely my favourite time of year. One thing that I’ve never really been a huge fan of though is Christmas films. I’m pretty fussy with them! I don’t like farcical comedies (Home Alone, for example) and most of the ‘popular’ Christmas films I haven’t even seen (I only watched ‘Elf’ a couple of weeks ago, and I only saw half of that). However, there are three films that I adore and I make sure I watch every single Christmas without fail…

Festive Treats: Chocolate ‘Merache’

A few days ago, my housemate and I made an icing similar to a chocolate ganache for a cake that she baked – we mixed melted chocolate with whipped double cream. After topping the cake with it, there was a lot of the mixture left so I did what I do best with leftover chocolate – I experimented with it. I came up with something that my mum called ‘chocolate merache’: the cream and chocolate mixture mixed with meringue. I’ll let you know something about me: I absolutely adore winter. As much as I enjoy the summer months too – the sunny weather, the long days and the opportunities to go out and do things outdoors without wearing a coat – but there’s just something about winter that makes it my favourite season of the year.
