It’s time for another festive blog tour! Before I start, I must apologise for how late this post is going up. Last week, I mistakenly thought, “I won’t have much work to do the week before Christmas, surely!” Oh, how wrong I was. It’s been one of my busiest weeks in ages! Today was no exception, so please forgive me for the extremely late post! I got there in the end.
This blog tour is a bit different because it’s not for a novel – it’s for a collection of festive short stories by 11 different authors. I thought the best way to review this would be to write mini-reviews for each of the stories in the book. There were some I liked and some I didn’t like, and the reviews vary in length. I tried my best, though!
The lights are in house windows, the trees are on display and the decorations are making everything look festive and wonderful. That could only mean one thing. It’s officially Christmas!!! With only 9 days, I repeat, 9 days till Christmas Day, I thought it was finally time to review one of my most anticipated books this year… The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher!
The Christmasaurus is a story about a boy named William Trundle, and a dinosaur, the Christmasaurus. It’s about how they meet one Christmas Eve and have a magical adventure. It’s about friendship and families, sleigh bells and Santa, singing elves and flying reindeer, music and magic. It’s about discovering your heart’s true desire, and learning that the impossible might just be possible.
If you couldn’t already tell from the festive makeover on my blog, it’s officially my FAVOURITE time of the year. The trees are up, the decorations are hanging in every room, and the fairy lights twinkle. It’s Christmas!!!
I’ve never really read many festive books, but I’ve read a few this year and they make me feel so warm and wintry. A couple of books I’ve read are Snowflakes and Christmas Cakes by Lindsey Paley, and The Silver Bells Christmas Pantomime by Lynsey James. I have a couple more ready to read as well, including The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. I’ve had it since last month and I’ve been dying to read it, but I patiently waited until now. I can’t wait!
When I was thinking about the books I like to read around Christmas, it made me wonder what others like. So, I turned to social media and asked my fellow bloggers. I loved some of their responses, and some of them made me want to read every book in their list! Here are their festive favourites!
I belong to a number of blogging pages on Facebook, and for the past few days, people have been posting Secret Santa info. I’ve seen a craft one, a beauty one, and a general gift-giving one. I thought – how cool would it be to have a bookish one?! So, instead of waiting to see if one pops up, I thought I’d organise one myself!
It’s November now, which means it’s edging closer to winter. And you know what winter brings… Christmas! That means that it’s practically already Christmas. Okay, maybe not. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get into the Christmas spirit this year. To start off the Christmas season early, I’m taking part in the blog tour for Snowflakes and Christmas Cakes by Lindsey Paley. Here’s my review!
