My sister Emily is back today with another children’s book review! To find more reviews written by Emily, have a look through my Index. (I think every single children’s book on the list is reviewed by Emily!) Today review is part of a blog tour for this adorable book called Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival.
Norman had always been normal, perfectly normal…
until the day he grew a pair of wings!
A bold and uplifting book about daring to be different and having the courage to dance to your own tune.
Perfect for soothing even the biggest worries.
My sister Emily’s back again today for another children’s book blog tour! I was excited about this book myself. Did you ever read the Edward Lear poem, The Owl and the Pussycat, when you were a kid? We loved it – I remember we even had an audio recording of it!
This book, The Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat by Carol Rumble and illustrated by Charlotte Cooke, is an adorable adaptation of the classic poem. To make it even cuter, the book was sent with a little packet of bee-friendly wildflower seeds for the garden!
The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea, in a box on the living room floor. They sailed away for a year and a day and these are the things that they saw…
Join two curious children on a quirky adventure, loosely based on the classic Edward Lear poem, The Owl and the Pussycat.
Today I have a guest post from author Bluette Matthey. Bluette is the author of the Hardy Durkin Travel Mystery series, Engadine Aerie, and the fifth book in the series comes out next week, on 26th April! In this guest post, she writes all about her life as an author. Take it away, Bluette!
If you’ve read some of my other blog tour posts, you may have seen my wonderful twin sister Emily review some books for me! Emily is a primary school teaching assistant, so she LOVES children’s books. That means she’s my go-to person to review them, so she’s here again today to review another one! Today’s blog tour is for Pilot Jane and the Runaway Plane by Caroline Baxter. Over to you, Emily!
Join Pilot Jane, a fun and fearless airline captain, as she travels the world with her best friend Rose, a high-speed passenger jet. Together Jane and Rose have exciting adventures and form a perfect team, delivering their passengers safely to destinations as far afield as Alaska and Australia.
But when disaster strikes and Rose falls ill, Jane is paired with ‘lean, mean flying machine’ Mighty Mitch. Can she still get the Queen to her party on time? Featuring a clever and courageous heroine, this action-packed rhyming story celebrates ‘Girl Power’ and shows what you can achieve if you work together. Fasten your seatbelt and get ready for take-off!
I’ve got a great guest post to share with you today! Diamond from eHealthInformer has written about why eBooks are great, and she’s shared 4 free eBooks that you can get right now. Take it away, Diamond!
4 Free eBooks to Grab Off the Shelves This Second
The emergence of e-books means you can carry an entire library with you wherever you go. However, until recently, this hasn’t been as easy as advertised because gaining access to these digital books meant purchasing an extra gadget. But, the emergence of smartphones has made this unnecessary, and as a result, the number of e-books available has skyrocketed.
Although many still prefer to use e-readers, such as the Amazon Kindle, you can download the Kindle app on just about any mobile device or even read e-books on your web browser, which makes it far simpler to gain access to new titles.
Amazon’s vast marketplace is also making it easier for readers to access e-books, and, even better, it has given authors an opportunity to publish their work in a more affordable manner. All of this means more books are making it to the marketplace than ever before, many of which are free. There are thousands of free e-books on Amazon, and within this collection there are lots of great reads.
Here are four to grab off the (digital) shelves this second.
