One of the festive books I read this year was My True Love Gave to Me, a selection of 12 festive short stories by a whole range of authors, and edited by Stephanie Perkins. It was so much fun to read! I read it as part of The Little Contemporary Corner‘s festive read-along. We aimed to read one story a day on the lead up to Christmas. I almost managed to succeed, finishing the final story on Boxing Day.
In this post, I’m going to share a mini-review of each story in the book. They’re only tiny snippets of what I thought, because they’re not really long enough for me to write an in-depth review. But I hope you enjoy it all the same!

As far as time machines go, a magic telephone is pretty useless.
TV writer Georgie McCool can’t actually visit the past; all she can do is call it, and hope it picks up. And hope he picks up — because once Georgie realizes she has a magic phone that calls into the past, all she wants is make things right with her husband, Neal.
Maybe she can fix the things in their past that seem unfixable in the present. Maybe this stupid phone is giving her a chance to start over. . . . Does Georgie want to start over?
A heart-wrenching—and hilarious—take on fate, time, television and true love, Landline asks if two people are ever really on the same path, or whether love just means finding someone who will keep meeting you halfway.
In September I bought more books than I’ve bought for ages. YAY for new books, BOO for the amount I’ll now have to add to my already insanely big TBR pile! I bought books from Amazon, The Works (a British bookshop if you’re not familiar with it) and also books for my Kindle. Here’s a list of all of them with their synopsis in case you fancy reading them too!
I’ve done it, I’ve completed #BEDM (Blog Every Day in May)!!! 31 days, 31 posts. I’ve managed to post every single day and it’s been amazing – I’ve gained so many new readers and followers, and the interaction on the posts has been fab! This post will be a huuuge list of all 31 BEDM posts in case you missed any and fancy catching up!
I was scrolling through a wonderful blog Fervently Curious today and I came across the ‘Ultimate Book Tag’. I haven’t been tagged, but I loved the look of the questions so I thought I’d do it. Let’s get started!
