I’ve (almost) officially finished University! // #BEDM

finished uni

This is only going to be a short post, but I really wanted to write it. Today I’ve done something huge… I’ve handed in my dissertation!! A lot of research, stress and over 10,000 words later it’s all finished. All that’s left to do now is to graduate and then, for the first time in seventeen years, I won’t be in education any more – and that’s terrifying. What happens now?!

Well, now that I don’t have to feel like I’m procrastinating every time I pick up a book or begin a new blog post, the first thing I’m definitely going to do is get through some of the books on my TBR pile. I have a stack of books ready to read and review, and I can’t wait to devote all my time to it. Until I finish university officially and go into the adult world and get a job (aaah), I can pay a lot more attention to this blog rather than it being secondary to my degree. I can’t wait!!

Beginning tomorrow, I’m going to put a lot more time and effort into my blog and social media and hopefully, I can fulfil my aim (oh god, I’m still in dissertation mode) of building my blog and its readership. And to those who already follow my blog or read my posts – thank you. The best is yet to come!

NUS #CutTheCosts: Westminster Lobby | December 2015

cut the costs

Yesterday (8th December 2015), a group of students from Edge Hill University and Liverpool travelled incredibly early in the morning to London for the #CutTheCosts Westminster Lobby at the Houses of Parliament.

#CutTheCosts is a campaign run by NUS (National Union of Students) concerning an increase in student debt. This includes preventing a rise in university fees and the scrapping of maintenance grants, and instead, turning them into repayable loans. Therefore, this will land upcoming students with even more debt. Find out more about the campaign here.
