I’m planning on uploading a couple of videos each week, so I thought a good way for all of you good ol’ blog readers to keep up date (apart from going and subscribing, of course) is to do a quick round-up of all the videos I uploaded each month.

Everyoneās heard of the popular YouTube game āsmash or passāā¦ and today, Iām playing a similar game with some of my favourite YA books. I take two books from a hat (well, aĀ HamiltonĀ mug) and I have to choose between them. Fun!
The Hand, the Eye & the Heart: A Discussion About Cultural Appropriation
A while ago, I read The Hand, the Eye & the Heart by Zoe Marriott and enjoyed it, but it opened up a big discussion about cultural appropriation and the whiteness of the publishing industry. Thatās what Iām going to talk about in this video. Buckle your seat belts because weāre in for a ride.
I hope this video doesnāt come across as me saying āI like it so THERE, the controversy doesnāt matter.ā Itās hard to put into words and I should have written a script. Basically, I canāt say that all of these issues made me like the STORY any less, but itās made me think more about supporting authors who write books rooted entirely in cultures and human experiences other than their own.
