For bloggers and creatives: a Creative Market gift card

Creative Market is an online marketplace where creators and artists can share their work, and you can buy it. Ranging from illustrations and vector images to Photoshop brushes and social media graphic templates, bloggers and creatives are bound to find something they’ll love that won’t only be beautiful, but useful too.

(Have you seen the space-themed banners I have at the top of most of the pages on my blog? Creative Market!)

For book lovers: a gift card for their favourite bookshop

There’s one thing book lovers love more than anything and that’s books (obviously). Getting a gift card for a store can often seem like the ultimate “I didn’t know what to get you” gift, but honestly, give a bookworm a reason to buy more books without spending their own money and they’ll be thrilled.

Where to buy:

Also for book lovers: a subscription to a book box

If you haven’t seen them, book subscription boxes are all the rage at the moment: usually monthly, you’ll get a box delivered to your door that contains a book (often a new or recent release), and some other items that bookworms will love. There are tons out there to choose from, and a subscription to one of them would make a great gift!

For theatre-goers: theatre tickets

This is stating the obvious, as above, but theatre lovers love the chance to go and see another show. Theatre tickets are such a great gift because not only are they quick to buy, but your gifting someone with an experience they’ll love. If you’re not sure what kind of show they like, just surprise them with something that sounds great!

If you only have a couple of days and there aren’t enough time for the tickets to arrive, you could make them a fake ticket and tell them that the real ones are waiting for them at the box office.

Where to buy: The website of your local theatre, or Google which shows are booking at the moment and go from there.

For everyone: a virtual card from Paperless Post

Note: I was gifted with free digital cards in exchange for a mention in this post. Thank you, Paperless Post!

Paperless Post is a website where you can send beautiful, customised cards for absolutely any occasion. Just pick the card you like, customise it till your heart’s content, and send it to someone special. They’ll receive it as an email and when they open it, it’ll be animated, giving them a unique card-opening experience.

Premium greetings cards are purchased using coins, and you can buy as many coins as you’d like. It costs 2 coins per recipient to send a card.

For everyone: an experience they’ll remember

Experiences are often better than material gifts, because it’s something they’ll remember forever. You can get them tickets to a zoo and book them an experience where they can feed the animals or become a zookeeper for the day; treat them to an afternoon tea or a spa day; or find something exciting to do in your local area.

You could present this to them as a printed ticket and a brochure or create a little info sheet about their day out.

Where to buy: the best option is probably to Google what’s in your local area. You can also use experience gift websites like Virgin Experience Days, Red Letter Days, Prezzybox, and more.

Other ideas

You know the person you’re buying for better than I do, so you might have a good idea of the kind of things they like. Here are a few more ideas:

  • A subscription to a magazine or a newspaper they read
  • An annual membership or a gift card for something they use regularly, like Netflix, Spotify, etc (add more and link them to where to buy)
  • Vouchers for sites like Amazon, the App Store/Google Play Store (if they’re an avid buyer of apps), etc
  • Classes or lessons for something they’ve always wanted to learn

Hopefully, this has given you some inspiration for a last-minute gift to get for someone in your life who absolutely, definitely hasn’t been forgotten. You’re just a chief procrastinator, I get it.

Go out there and gift someone something they’ll love — they don’t have to know you only bought it yesterday! Your secret is safe with me. 🤫
