5 Reasons to Add The Infinity Courts to Your TBR

I’m always going to shout about Akemi’s books because they’re always incredible. I’ve been a part of the street team for a couple of books now (this one and Harley in the Sky, which came out last year) — we’re a group of book lovers who help to promote Akemi’s books and hopefully get everyone reading them. I previously announced part of the cover reveal for this book!

We’re currently all pitching in to host a Buzz Week for The Infinity Courts, which is Akemi’s first sci-fi/fantasy! It’s a week of blog posts, videos, Q&As, giveaways and more, and the best place to keep up with all the action is to follow Akemi on Instagram.

Today is my stop on the tour, and I’m going to tell you 5 reasons why you should add The Infinity Courts to your TBR right now!

1. A rich, developed, and atmospheric fantasy setting

Want a world that you can practically see in your head like you’re watching a movie? An atmospheric, mysterious fantasy land that’s divided into four opposing courts, each with their own terrifying quirks and governed by feuding brothers? The world of Infinity has all of these things and more, and it immerses you in the darkness of an ongoing war and the mystery of Infinity’s residents who blindly follow commands.

2. A non-stop, pulse-racing story of survival

It’s not hard to enjoy a book that throws you into the action and doesn’t let go. You start to build a real connection with Nami and her character before all hell breaks lose and she’s thrown around this crazy world where she has to be constantly alert.

She has to train to use weapons, learn how to harness her power (if she can find out what her power actually is…), and work with a team of misfits to save the world. No big deal, right?! (Telling you that you’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time is an understatement.)

3. A truly selfless heroine who never backs down from what she believes in

Nami is such a great protagonist to follow because she is so human. I think I’ve mentioned this in my reviews of Akemi’s books before, she really knows how to write genuine, human characters that you believe in and want to see succeed.

Nami is flawed in terms of the traits the rest of the team want her to have, but she shows that doing things your own way without hurting people can still get the job done. She always leads with good intentions and she never backs down. Honestly, she’s the exact kind of kickass gal I think we all want to root for.

4. “Chosen one” and “enemies-to-lovers” tropes — but with twists that make them feel new and exciting

When people ask me what tropes I like, I always struggle to answer: but then I read The Infinity Courts and that answer was made clear to me. This book kind of explores two big tropes — “the chosen one”, and “enemies-to-lovers” – but it does them in such a unique, and refreshing way that doesn’t feel eye-rollingly cliché. Again, it’s all down to the traits Nami possesses and the fact that she stands up for herself and uses her initiative to do things her own way. And the enemies to lovers? Oof, without giving anything away: it’s one hell of a ride.

5. A hell of an ending that will leave you dying for a sequel

…do I need to say much more here? Honestly, when you finish, you’ll wish the second book (which there will by, by the way 😱) is in your hands already.
