2017 Wrap-Up & 2018 Goals

2017 Wrap-Up & 2018 Goals

When New Year’s Eve comes, there’s one thing you can always guarantee. You’ll scroll through Facebook and it’s filled with people reflecting in their 2017 and promising to themselves, once again, that the next year will be better. There are a number of cliches that always pop up in these posts: “2017 was a rollercoaster!” or “the year had its ups and downs!” or even more commonly, “new year, new me!”. Ugh. If that were truly the case, some of my Facebook friends have reinvented themselves 18 times by now!

2017 has been a year full of crazy highs and unfortunate lows. I'm reflecting on some of the important events from 2017 and outlined my goals for the 2018.

I can safely say that 2017 has been a crazy year. It’s had its fair share of highs and lows. (There’s the cliche for you. I couldn’t resist.) In this post, I’m going to do a quick look back on 2017 and then share a few of my goals for this year.

Warner Bros Studio Tour | Photo Diary

Warner Bros Studio Tour | Photo Diary

Recently, my sister Emily and I went on an early birthday trip to London. We had a whole Harry Potter weekend planned: day 1 was the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Leavesden, and day 2 was a visit to the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibition at the British Library. They were both such fun days and even though we were exhausted, it was so worth it!

We went to visit the Warner Bros Studio Tour during the Dark Arts feature. I took some photos while I was there and I'm sharing them with you here!

This was actually my third trip to the Studio Tour. I’ve been once when it was just a regular day, once when it was all Christmassy, and this time, it was close to Halloween so they were celebrating everything Dark Arts.

Monthly Wrap-Up: May 2017

Monthly Wrap-Up: May 2017

Another month over! I wrote so many posts in May - some of them I'm really proud of! Here's a summary of everything I posted.

I’ve forgotten to do this for a month or two! I wrote a lot this May (and a lot of them have been posts I’m proud of!) so I thought it was about time I did another monthly wrap-up. Here are all the posts I wrote in May with handy links to them all. It’s a great chance to catch up on anything you missed!

My Room Transformation – Creating the Perfect Work Space!

My Room Transformation – Creating the Perfect Work Space!

When I finished university, I was lucky enough to land my perfect job, and it meant working from home. It also meant that I really needed a decent work space. I was doing all of my work on the sofa downstairs or hunched on my bed, and it wasn’t great for my muscles. It meant only one thing… a room transformation was in order!

I work from home full-time, and I really needed a decent work space. So I set out to transform my tiny bedroom and create one! Here is the before and after!

I had a trip to IKEA with my mum and splashed out on a desk, and we spent a whole day transforming my little space. There’s a little sneaky before and after, but I’ve got loads more for you. I took photos as the transformation progressed, and it’s great to see how different it looks. It looked so messy and cluttered before, and now I love it! Let’s have a proper look, shall we?

A Story I Wrote When I Was 7

A Story I Wrote When I Was 7

Recently, I was looking through a huge folder of stuff that I have in my room. It’s full of sensible things like bank statements and student loans letters, and fun stuff like letters from friends, and drawings I’ve done over the years. It was so much fun to look through them all!

Recently, I found a story I wrote when I was 7 about my best friend and her birthday party. I share the whole story in this post. Enjoy!

One gem I found was a story I wrote when I was 7. It’s so great that I just had to share it! You might remember a post I wrote ages ago called My First Novel, about a story I wrote when I was 11. I wrote out the whole story (in its full glory, spelling mistakes and all) as well as sharing photos of the original book. I’ll do the same with this one!

(For a bit of context before we start: Joely was my best friend at the time (and still is now). She definitely did not have a pet bird as the story suggests (you’ll see), but she did in the story, apparently.)
