What do I do when I’m going on holiday in the morning, haven’t packed or showered, and it’s approaching midnight?
Completely redesign my blog, of course!
For ages, I’ve liked the design of my blog but there was something about it that I wasn’t loving. I did a bit of research into other blogs and designs I loved, and realised exactly what I wanted: a pretty design that still has elements that reflect my inner space nerd, while going for a white space minimalist approach.
I got to work revamping the homepage first, and GUESS WHAT… after almost two hours of hard work, the page crashed and reloaded, and I hadn’t saved it as a draft. So all my work was gone.

So, I powered on through, despite it being midnight, and did it again. Luckily it only took a fraction of the time because I already knew how I wanted it to look; I just had to replicate what I’d already done.
My plan was to get the homepage finished so I could at least publish that, and then work on the rest of the site when I get back from my holiday next weekend.
But did I do that? Absolutely not.
It’s now 3am (although I’m posting this the next day because 3am is a ridiculous time to post) and I’ve only just got into bed after redesigning almost every page on the site. I’m so glad I did though because I knew that in a whole week, I’ll be out the flow of it and forget what I was doing. (Plus, I wasn’t tired anyway. So… there.)
All that’s left to do is go through all the blog pages and change those to the new design, which might take AGES, so I might have to work on that a little bit each day. So if you come across a blog post and the design doesn’t match the rest of the site, that’ll be why.
I’m feeling excited to get back into blogging and things again, so I’m hoping this week’s holiday by the sea will inspire me to write about a million blog posts like it did this time last year!

P.S. If you have a look around the site, I’d suuuper appreciate it if you could let me know what you think of the new design. Thank yooou!
